I've reached the review section in my Chemistry course by the Ron Paul Curriculum. This section will span over five weeks and at the end a test will be given. Here are some of the concepts that will be reviewed: SIG FIGs and Scientific notationDimensional Analysis and Atomic StructureMole ConceptPercent Composition and Balancing Chemical EquationsStoichiometryGas … Continue reading Review of Basic Chemistry Concepts

Chemistry: Week 18

Week 18 in the Ron Paul Curriculum Chemistry course was all about Structural Formulas. All four lessons were spent learning about and writing out structural formulas, and I must say it is quite fun when you have gotten so good at writing it all out without help or reference. Lesson one of week 18 started … Continue reading Chemistry: Week 18

Chemistry: Week 17

This week of the Chemistry course from the Ron Paul Curriculum covered a lot of concepts, mainly focusing on covalent bond formations, hydrogen, coordinate covalent bonds, multiple chemical bonds, and structural formula. Lesson number one started off describing covalent bonds. Unlike ionic bonds, covalent bonds share valence electrons instead of transferring them. We quickly reviewed … Continue reading Chemistry: Week 17
